The Change Catalyst: Symbol of the Week: Wisdom

GaneshI was fortunate to be in India last year for the Ganesh festival which was a great experience. The elephant is an important symbol for intelligence in India and other African cultures. Ganesh represents worldly wisdom and is the patron the book trade.

The Change Catalyst: Symbol of the Week: Learning

BlueBlue is one of my favourite colours and it is also a symbol of knowledge and learning. The Chinese used blue to represent scholarship and in Buddhism conveys a wider meaning of spiritual knowledge. In Jungian psychology, blue is used to suggest the calm life of the conscious mind.

No wonder we enjoy the blue skies and blue oceans as ideal vacation spots.

The Change Catalyst: Symbol of the Week: Health

AntSympathetic magic - transferring or imitating elements of a symbol - was often used in primitive cultures. They believed that such a symbol’s strengths could be used as a cure. So as ants are regarded as highly productive and never resting - but eating them some cultures in North Africa believed that listless people could become more energetic.

The Change Catalyst - Symbol of the Week : Wealth

EggIn many folk tales around the world, the egg is a symbol of unexpected wealth. Perhaps it is because of the golden yellow yolk concealed inside the shell.  Also, the yolk could symbolise the sun, an important symbol of life and comfort.

Gooses lay golden eggs and dragons guard them.
